BITFISH
Hollow County — an 8-bit fishing game
Common questions, and how to get hold of a human.
There is deliberately no way to recover it. The PIN is stored scrambled and is never sent anywhere, so nobody — including us — can read it or reset it for you. That is what makes it worth setting.
The only way to clear a forgotten PIN is to delete and reinstall the app, which also erases your saved progress. Please choose one you will remember.
Open the coin store and tap Restore Purchases. Purchases are tied to your Apple Account, so this also brings the unlock across to a new device.
Coin packs are delivered by Apple, and occasionally that is slow rather than broken. Close and reopen the app first. If they still have not arrived, get in touch with your purchase receipt and we will sort it out.
Progress is stored only on your device, so it does not follow you to a new phone and cannot be recovered if the app is deleted. This is the trade for a game that needs no account and collects nothing about you.
Each water opens once you have logged 80% of the species at the water before it — ten of twelve. It counts different species, not fish landed, so a tenth bluegill will not move it. Tap the locked water on the map and it will tell you exactly what is still missing.
The line bar never refills. Every moment spent in the red wears it through for good, so a long fight on light line is lost before it ends. Ease off when the fish runs, and buy heavier line before going after the big ones.
If none of the above covers it, email huntercbarnett@outlook.com. It is one person reading, so expect a couple of days rather than an hour.
For a bug, the two things that help most are what you were doing when it happened and which water you were fishing. A screenshot beats a description every time.
