BITFISH

Hollow County — an 8-bit fishing game

Privacy Policy

Applies to Bitfish: Hollow County on iOS. Effective 22 September 2026.

The short version. Bitfish collects no personal information about you. There is no account, no login, no server and no analytics. Everything you do in the game stays on your device. The single exception is advertising, which is described below.

What the app stores, and where

Your progress is saved on your device and only on your device. That includes your caught-fish log, coins, gear, tank contents, settings, and — if you set one — a scrambled form of your shop PIN. None of it is transmitted anywhere. We cannot see it, recover it, or restore it. Deleting the app deletes all of it permanently.

Advertising

The free version of Bitfish shows ads supplied by Google AdMob. This is the only third party in the app, and the only thing that causes any network request at all.

To serve an ad, Google receives limited technical information such as your device type, your approximate region derived from your IP address, and the fact that an ad was requested. We never receive that information, and we receive no reports that identify you.

Every ad request Bitfish makes is configured as child-directed, regardless of who is playing. In practice that means:

Google's own handling of this data is covered by how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

If you would rather see none of it, the in-app Remove Ads purchase switches advertising off permanently, and with it every outbound request the app makes.

Purchases

Bitfish sells coin packs and a one-time Remove Ads unlock. Purchases are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your name, payment card, or billing details — Apple tells the app only whether a purchase succeeded.

The game includes an optional PIN, set by an adult, that locks the coin store so it cannot be opened without it.

Children

Bitfish is rated 4+ and is suitable for general audiences, but it is not directed primarily at children and is not part of the App Store Kids Category.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age, because we do not collect personal information at all. As described above, advertising is configured to the stricter child-directed standard for every player rather than only for some, which is why the app never asks for tracking permission.

Your choices

Because nothing leaves your device, there is no account to close and no data for us to hand over, correct or delete. If you want everything gone, delete the app; that removes it completely.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.

Questions about this policy, or about what the app does and does not store, go to huntercbarnett@outlook.com.

Bitfish has no account system, so there is nothing to verify before we answer — but it also means we cannot look anything up about you, because there is nothing on our side to look up.
